RESEARCH INTERESTS: Dr. Trinh's research interests are in corporate governance and organizational learning. Two questions drive her research:

  • Firms actively invest in different information transfer mechanisms that can exist within and outside of the firm. Under what conditions are certain mechanisms more effective than other mechanisms for firm performance?
  • Firms actively evaluate the costs and benefits of different information transfer mechanisms that can influence different corporate strategies. Under what conditions are certain strategies more effective than other strategies for firm performance?

CURRENT RESEARCH PROJECTS: Dr. Trinh currently works on two research projects.

Project 1: This research focuses on organizational memory and information use. Dr. Trinh examines the effectiveness of information sources on task performance at individual and group levels. In phase 1 of this project, Dr. Trinh utilizes experimental data of 250 finance students performing business plan evaluation tasks. In phase 2, Dr. Trinh plans to utilize survey data of firm employees performing business plan evaluation tasks.

Project 2: This research focuses on corporate governance issues. Dr. Trinh examines the performance of privatized firms in a competitive market environment. In particular, Dr. Trinh analyzes firm-level survey data collected by the Vietnam's Central Institute For Economic Management (CIEM) and the Vietnam’s General Statistics Office from 1998 to 2005.
